With a medical degree in Italy, Rome, at The Catholic University of Holy Heart in 1987, and after having completed two resident program in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery, Ferdinando Agresta served as consultant surgeon in the Community Hospital of Vittorio Veneto (TV) Italy and in Padua (Italy) and since 2011 he is the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the Community Hospital of Adria (RO), Italy. His main field of interest is laparoscopy, above all the laparoscopic approach in the emergency situations. He has been the promoter and Chief of the Scientific Committee of several Consensus Conference on Laparoscopy and emergency, laparoscopy and incisional/ventral hernia, Laparoscopy and Appendectomy and Laparoscopy and cholecystectomy,. He is authors of more than 100 articles and editor of two books

M.L. Theerathavaj Srithavaj is presently the head of postgraduate in Maxillofacial Prosthetic International Program at Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University. He was awarded with BS degree in Biology major Marine Biology and in Molecular/ Virology in 1987 with Dean Honours from Fairfield University, CT, U.S.A.; In 1990, was a Master’s Degree with concentration in Immunology and Virology with merit scholarship. In 1994, He was awarded Doctor of Dental Surgery honor in Fixed Prosthodontics with Merit scholarship from New York University College of Dentistry and continued his post doctoral program in Advanced Education in Prosthodontics. Then, completed his fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics from Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre in 1997 and was an Assistant Professor in Prosthodontics as Head Chief of Predoctoral program at New York University College of Dentistry in 1997-1998.

Dr. István Seffer made a long journey from his hometown Nagyatád in Somogy County, through the first Transdanubian private clinic founded in 1992, to the innovative surgical techniques he developed and applied. He graduated from the University of Medicine in Pécs. He worked at the Department of Surgery of Somogy County Hospital for years. He passed a Surgical examination and a Plastic surgery professional examination. Later he became a co-worker at the Department of Plastic Surgery of the Central Military Hospital. According to his initiation the Plastic surgery specialist care was launched in Southern Transdanubia specialized care.He has achieved outstanding results in the "Embryonic stem cell research, isolation, storage and therapeutic use". He founded a world class stem cell laboratory and clinic for his research. Despite of his internationally acclaimed scientific results he was accused of " illicit use of human body" in Hungary. Since then, 31 scientific publications and international presentations have been published on medical biotechnology. Linked to his name among others the development of green cell, curer cell, and scarless technology. He was awarded with the Honorary Doctorate of Letters tittle by the International Biographical Center in Cambridge, England for his medical biotechnology work that determines the future of medicine. His 250 scientific works are unique in Hungarian plastic surgery.

Professor John Mew graduated in dentistry at University College London and then trained in Orthognathic surgery at the Royal Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead where he developed an interest in the science of facial growth. Seeking alternatives to facial surgery he returned in 1965 to University College to specialise in orthodontics. Since then he has been developing non-surgical methods of correcting unattractive vertical growth in children’s faces. In the 1970s he wrote several papers on the new sub-specialty of ‘Orthotropics’ which aims to encourage horizontal growth by changing oral posture. He has written a textbook and published many articles internationally on this subject. John has recently been described both as “a maverick†and “the brightest orthodontist who has ever livedâ€Â.

Dr. Parker is Acting Chairman of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, N.J. He maintains faculty positions as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. In his role as professor, he is responsible for teaching medical students and residents compassionate care and the latest advances in surgery. Recently, Dr. Parker was awarded the prestigious Theodore Kocher Award by the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Chief Residents “given for meticulous surgical technique and outstanding clinical judgment†and the volunteer faculty award for teaching Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson medical students. Dr. Parker specializes in the most advanced minimally invasive approach to patients with colon and rectal disease. Laparoscopy and open colorectal surgery is used for the treatment of colon and rectal cancer, benign polyps, diverticulitis and inflammatory bowel disease. He uses both medical and surgical techniques in the management of hemorrhoids, rectal prolapse, fecal incontinence and other anal rectal diseases. Colonoscopy is performed for screening, diagnosis and therapy in the evaluation of the colon and rectum. Dr. Parker is currently developing the first robotics program in the region for colon and rectal surgery to provide the best possible surgical outcome for patients. He has been recognized for his abilities in minimally invasive-laparoscopic surgery and was selected to teach both nationally and internationally. Ramazi O. Datiashvili, MD, PhD is Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery. Dr. Datiashvili is a world recognized Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon. He has a 30 year history of academic and clinical plastic surgical experience. He started his remarkable surgical carrier in former USSR. After graduation from the First Moscow Medical Institute in 1972 and completion of Fellowship in General and Vascular Surgery at the National Research Center of Surgery in 1974, he quickly progressed to become a Chief of the Microsurgical Department at age 28 at the Moscow City Hospital #51. In 1978 he earned Academic Degree “Candidate of Medical Sciences†(PhD), Thesis: “Reconstructive Microsurgical Operations in Occlusions of the Lower Leg Arteriesâ€Â, 162 P. In 1981 Dr. Datiashvili continued his outstanding academic and surgical carrier at the National Center of Surgery of the USSR in Moscow – a leading surgical academic institution in the former USSR. Dr. Datiashvili has become one of the world leading experts in Reconstructive Microsurgery. He was a true celebrity in the former USSR and received numerous recognition awards for his famous surgeries in reattachment of the amputated limbs. In 1988 he earned an Academic Degree “Doctor of Medical Sciences†– the highest academic degree in Russia (equivalent to Professorship in the US). In 1988 Dr. Datiashvili was an invited Guest Lecturer for two American Surgical Societies: American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and American Society for Hand Surgery. In 1991 Dr. Datiashvili immigrated to the USA. Following rules and regulations of this country he completed General Surgery Residency at the Mount Sinai Medical School, New York, NY and then Plastic Surgery Residency at the former UMDNJ/New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ. Since completion of residency programs in 2001, Dr. Datiashvili continued his successful carrier in the Division of Plastic Surgery at Rutgers University/New Jersey medical School. Dr. Datiashvili was featured in New Jersey TV news on two occasions for his performed unique surgeries. He also was featured in the state newspapers and magazines. Dr. Datiashvili is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Mark S. Granick, M.D., F.A.C.S. is Professor of Surgery, tenured, and Chief of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Granick has a 25 year history of academic plastic surgical experience. He began with a BA from Cornell University and an MD from Harvard Medical School. His residency training was performed at Harvard and at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Granick is certified by the American Boards of Plastic Surgery and of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Granick is very active on the international academic scene and has taught many courses and lectured throughout the world. He is internationally known for his expertise in wound surgery and technology. Dr. Granick has edited 9 textbooks, written 50 book chapters and 150 peer reviewed scholarly publications. He co-founded and co-edits the first open access, Pub Med indexed plastic surgery journal, ePlasty. Dr. Granick is also one of the founders and on the Executive Board of the Journal of Wound Technology. Dr. Granick has NIH funded research on biofilms and wounds. He has fostered a program of cutting edge surgery and developed one of the most sought after plastic surgical training programs in the country. She teaches general surgery at the University of Bologna. She conducted several postgraduate and undergraduate surgery courses (4 th year and 5th year of the degree course). She has an active role in the residency training programme. She taught general surgery to general surgery, thoracic surgery and radiotherapy residents, as well as to neurophysiology technicians and obstetrics. She is tutor of general surgery residents. She was consultant surgeon for hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery at Perrino hospital of Brindisi, where she has performed a large number of HBP operations. She has performed, as first surgeon, more than 7,000 operations of general surgery at the Department of Surgery of the University of Bologna. The documentation relating to surgery she has performed has been certified by the director general of the hospital and by the head of the Department of Surgery. This documentation is available for examination on request.
